An invitation to pray for the health of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV

“The Lord will sustain him on his sickbed and restore him to full health.” Psalm 41:3

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Ethiopia, on behalf of the clergy, religious men and women, and all of our country’s Catholic faithful, expresses its solidarity with the Pope and the universal church and prays for his quick recovery.   

From the moment we learned of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV’s sickness and surgical procedure, our hearts were filled with deep concern and solicitous care. Throughout all these times, the Ethiopian Catholic Church has stayed united in fervent prayer for our Pope.

Our hearts are overjoyed and grateful now that His Holiness has successfully completed his surgery and is recovering well.

We humbly invite the faithful to pray that God, the Divine Physician, continues to extend His loving hand over His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, providing him total restoration, full strength, and long health so that he continues his apostolic service as a Pope. May Our Lady, Mother of the Church, keep His Holiness in her maternal care.
